Cynthia is a Communications professional, entrepreneur, and avid traveler. She’s been hosting the HONeys Retreats since 2017. As an expert traveler, having lived in 5 and traveled to over 30 countries around the world, she’ll navigate you along this trip. Leading you through your well-being journey, adventures, and a guaranteed good time. If you’re an entrepreneur, creative or seeking support and inspiration for your career you can book a 1-on-1 business consult with her as an add-on during the retreat.

Khady is a Senegalese-Dutch Creative Entrepreneur, Senegal expert, and self-taught freelance interpreter. She started Senegalese Twisted as a way to express her creativity by combining photography and writing. This eventually lead to her expressing herself through videos on YouTube and adding voiceovers to her blog posts. She lives to inspire others just by sharing her experiences. You can learn from your own experiences, so why not also from other people's experiences?

ITINERARY

Welcome to Senegal!
The first day will be an easy day as guests may be arriving throughout the day. The program will kick off at 17:00 with traditional fruit drinks, followed by dinner and a soft Senegalese welcome. We may end the night with a walk and explore our neighborhood together.
As most flights into Dakar arrive in the evening, we recommend flying on November 8th so you can get the full (daytime) experience and we can assist you in booking an extra night of accommodation.

Visiting Gorée Island!
We'll start the day early with a group breakfast and guided meditation. Then we will go on our way to visit Gorée island. After visiting the museum and walking around, there is enough time to explore the island, take pictures of the beautiful and colorful architecture. It is also a great time to go swimming or just chilling at the beach. We will take the ferry back after dinner.

Jollof Rice & waist beads workshop
We'll start the day with a group breakfast, followed by a workshop to get into traditional Senegalese culture. Yes, Jollof Rice originated in Senegal and is locally known as Ceebu Jën. During the workshop, we will learn more about the Jollof Empire and eat lunch together. In the afternoon, we will invite a local waist beads maker to teach us the origins and use of waist beads (bin bins) in Senegalese culture.

Surprise day trip outside Dakar
We will start with an early morning breakfast and then head towards a location outside Dakar. The location will be held a secret, but we will tell you what to bring with you and how the day will go before we go, don’t worry! It will be fun!

Connecting with local creatives
After breakfast, we will invite local creative women to connect with. Not only will they share their experiences with us, but we will also share ours and connect with them. There will be enough time to take pictures and talk over lunch. After connecting with the creatives, everyone can explore on their own or together.

Exploring Marché Kermel & Village Artisanal
During our last full day in Senegal, we will start off with breakfast together. Afterward, we will head over to the local market (Marché Kermel/Artisan Village) where you can shop for souvenirs or treat yourself. We will come back at a central point to have dinner together.

Enjoy the last day in Senegal!
This is the last day in Senegal for most. The retreat is almost over, but we aren’t done yet! We will have our daily breakfast routine, chill by the pool and close off the retreat together over farewell drinks, then get you to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.

Book Your Stay
We require a deposit of €650 to confirm your spot. You can choose to pay the retreat package in full or we also offer payment plans, which you can select when booking through our booking page. Should you require a customized booking plan, please get in touch with us at hi@houseofnotoire.com

We offer solo rooms and shared rooms. The latter will be shared with one other guest, should you want to share the room with a friend then please mention their name by leaving a comment when booking and we’ll make sure you stay with your roomie!

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date you expect to leave Senegal. All European citizens and many other countries are visa-exempt to enter Senegal. Please check the visa requirements for your country of origin here.

Depending on the destination, we recommend afternoon arrivals and departures at any time on the final day. We arrange airport transfers which are included in the trip, so you have flexibility in choosing which flights work best for you (on the retreat program start and end dates). However, on the last day, check-out will usually be around 11 am. If most all flights are in the evening, we still have a full-day program to enjoy before departure.

We use a secure booking platform called WeTravel to process all of our bookings. Through this booking platform, you can use a credit card or a bank transfer to book your stay. We can also send an invoice for those who wish to declare the retreat as a business expense.

Yes! We offer custom payment plans tailored to your specific financial needs. We can create a payment plan with monthly payment plans leading up to the retreat, every other week, or every other month depending on your needs. We can split up the remaining balance into up to 6 payments. You can choose a payment plan through our booking system or email us for a customized plan at hi@houseofnotoire. Please note that your balance must be paid off one month prior to the retreat start date.

We put a lot of care and months of preparation into organizing these retreats before your arrival and during your stay, so you get the best experience imaginable. Should you require to cancel your participation, our cancellation policy looks as follows:
Within 24hrs: full refund, including deposit.
After 24hrs of receiving your booking confirmation, the €650 deposit is non-refundable and you are entitled to the following (minus admin charges) depending on the date of cancellation prior to the retreat start date.
Within 120 days: a full refund.
Within 120 - 90 days: a 50% refund
Within 60 - 90 days: a 25% refund
Less than 60 days: no refund.
